On Monday, September 12th, the Friends Program held its 19th Annual Golf Tournament at Concord Country Club to support the Friends Youth Mentoring Program. With 119 players, 45 golf tournament sponsors, over 50 donors, and close to 30 raffle prizes we were able to raise over $18,000! This event was a huge success for the Youth Mentoring Program and those kids we work with in the community.
Besides the funds raised, there was a lot of fun and some winners too.
The Team from The Rowley Agency was winner of the Tournament with a score of 59 and received a store credit for the pro shop at the Country Club.
We had 6 holes-in-one as part of the putting contest, which means we had a putt-off with Brett Houston, Mark Lecompte, Steve Goldman, Brad Osgood, Chuck Milliken, and Mike Lovely. In the end, Steve Goldman was the champion and winner of a round of golf for a foresome and a cart at the Country Club .
Mark Dunn and Mindy Reid were closest to the pin on the 9th hole, which gave them the opportunity to try for a $1,000,000 prize.
Unfortunately, neither of them won but there is always next year.
On the 16th hole we ran a 50/50 Raffle, which was won by Gordon Tuttle who now has an extra $270 to spend.
