Mentors and mentees were thrilled to participate when the Friends Program was awarded a $5,000.00 grant from Wells Fargo. The grant check, presented during a Friends Program youth mentoring activity at Altitude Trampoline Park in Concord, will be put to immediate use serving at-risk children, homeless families, and low-income seniors by connecting those in need with volunteers, programs, and services in their communities to make a difference.

“Our grant from Wells Fargo will go right to work here in New Hampshire, allowing the Friends Program to recruit mentors and volunteers, shelter families, and provide rides for homebound seniors, plus so much more,” said Friends Program’s Executive Director Nancy Paul. “Our neighbors need vital services that this funding will help us support.”

The Friends Program fosters the power of human connection to address root causes of social challenges with individualized support, tools, and resources through youth mentoring programs, a shelter for homeless families, and volunteer programs that fulfill the needs of seniors to actively contribute in the community. The organization connects children, families, and seniors in need with a network of support as they create better lives for themselves thereby overcoming the effects of poverty and abuse, ending the cycle of homelessness, and breaking out of isolation and depression.

“Across our community, many residents are working hard to make ends meet. Here in Concord, we want to help support the diverse needs of our New Hampshire neighbors and facilitate access to mentoring, housing and other critical services,” said Dan O’Connor, Senior Vice President, Middle Market Banking, Wells Fargo in New Hampshire. “The Friends Program provides critical community development programs that revitalize and strengthen our local neighborhoods and make positive lasting impacts throughout the state.”
